crank trigger
hey guys, had to share this. always was curious about crank triggers, just installed one on my 377 sbc. been running an msd 85551, locked@38 degrees for years. after installing the crank trigger the timing is rock solid ,idle to 7200. always seemed to bounce a little before. anyone have any experience to share on this? any hp,or et gains with this. i would suspect a possible gain because of the consistant timing, thanks as always......randy

Re: crank trigger
I noticed the same thing when I did mine, the timing was rock solid, the engine was way crisper and it did seem to pick up a little. Wouldn't think twice about doing it on another engine.
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.

Re: crank trigger
I've seen claims of 25hp by some people, just from swapping to a crank trigger. I didn't run mine back to back to compare. You're right about being steady compared to the dist. pickup. I now consider it a must for a serious nitrous engine.

Re: crank trigger
Now that you mention it I think it does start better. Maybe just in my head though. I remember back when I thought "man I'll never have the need for a crank trigger". The evolution of speed lol. Got a bunch of stuff I thought I'd never need.

Sadly, my wife won't let me make any more changes to the Camaro
Wait, let me amend that. I can make all the changes I want as long as it doesn't cost money.
