Jesel Adjusters

#1 Post by Craig W. » Sat Sep 03, 2011 12:18 pm

OK guys, I need your opinion/experience here.

I'll try to keep this short. Last weekend I broke a lifter roller and wiped out my cam. I have a spare cam on the shelf and the lifters have been sent to Isky to upgrade to the EZX rollers. But the spare cam has a slightly smaller base circle and its requiring the adjusters to be run out 3 to 3.5 turns from bottomed. Jesel says no more than two turns.

I don't have the cash for new pushrods. I spent over $300 for good Mantons. Sure would be nice to use them.

I do have shims under the rocker stands but lowering them down will move the rocker tip towards the inside and compromise geometry.

Anyone run their adjusters that far down? Did they hold up?

I've never run them out that far, but here's my view on this.

IF you ran than out that far, there's a chance they could break which in turn could tear up some rockers. This may run more $$ than buying the right length pushrods. But, since there close to the same cost, why not buy a new cam like the old one which was damaged? This would allow you to keep your pushrods and put you back to where you were prior.

Just exploring my options for how to make next weekend's race without spending money I don't have, not any long term solution.
