Good idea.

This next go around I'm using the end seals, takes too long for that thick cross section to setup on the rear main. Hopefully the new rear main seal will work great and I can move on.

Third time is a charm. Pressure tested this evening and pan, and new rear main seal are now sealed nice and tight. Got a little work to do on the valve train and she should be ready to drop in.

Probably too late to chime in on this subject, but MOPAR black RTV works really well and I use it almost exclusively. The stuff is compareable in price to the parts store stuff and sets up well and holds up.

Its been a long time since my last post, had browsed around from time to time though.

On anything that gets taken off regularly I still use a gasket, that would be oil pan and valve covers. Siliconed to the pan, comes off easy and has been off and back on at least 20 times on the same gasket... Same with valve covers, siliconed to the cover...they come off quite alot also.
