632 help needed

#1 Post by torkhp » Sun Jan 13, 2013 1:50 am

I am building a 632 Chev, on alcohol (injected), for a dragster. The car has gone 7.70 @ 170mph.Car weighs 2100 lbs, 4;10 gear, 33.5 X 16 X 15 slicks, usually , about 3700 ft air. 6500 stall convertor, 7400 thru the traps. Engine is 15.5:1, Brodix HH 383 CNC heads, reworked to flow 490 cfm ( 28") @ .850 lift . The two cams I am considering (car ran with 1 st cam)are , 1- IN @.05, 288* , EX @ .050, 312* .877 lift In, .817 , EX. LSA 116*. OR second choice- IN. @ .05, 286* EX. @.050, 294* .875 lift IN...800 lift EX.114*LSA. Both have 7/4 swap. I am leaning towards the second cam, mostly, with the idea of closing the intake earlier & get the cranking comp up from 180, to maybe 240 or so. Also trying to keep some of the heat in the motor, by shortening up the EX dur. I think I'm on the right track.??? Headers are 25' long pri, 2 1/4 -2 3/8 step, 9"merge collector. Any opinions, OR experience will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help
