I picked up my Dart Pro 1's 345cfm fully assembled with 1.625 K motion valve springs which will handle a .750 solid roller, with free shipping for $1900. Fantasy Engines and Parts, 1-800-675-3426 ask for Jerrame.

These heads are right in your budget range. the 310cc would be as large as I would put on your 495 given your "low or conservative" rpm redline. the heads are fully CNC ported (intake & exhaust runners as well as the chambers) and include severe duty valves, manley 1.640" diameter nextek springs, and titanium retainers.

I have the 310 cc on a 13.4 to 1 compression normally aspirated 461 ci bbc in a 3450 lb chassis. best so far has been 9.628 @ 138.8 mph, 1.32 60' footbraking off the line. This is also on a 325/50-15 M/T Et Street radial.

These by far are the best conventional head out there for bbc.

Ummm, just to clarify, was that $3k budget for the heads alone, or are you trying to do a whole engine for that same money?

3k is for the heads and intake. i was given a 4.25 scat 9000 cast crank and good 454 block by a local machine shop and the cast crank is the only reason i want to keep the rpms conservitive.

I'm using an Edelbrock Victor jr with a Holley 1000HP carb by Pro Systems.

If you want to shoot me an e-mail at geislert@qis.net, I can forward some pics of the heads.
