LS6 head value $$ ??

#1 Post by 8sec71 » Tue Sep 05, 2006 6:38 pm

I was just wondering if any of you guys has an idea of what a good set of rect. port LS6 cyl heads are worth. They came off my 454 that I used to have in my Chevelle. They should be gone over with maybe a valve job and certainly some springs and seals. My uncle wants to buy them but I don't have a clue what to charge him. Any ideas?

LS6 that would be closed chamber 13/16 long reach plugs .is that what you have ? and do they have any port work / seats iron or bronze guides..

I have sold #990 or #820 for $850-$1200 complete fresh w/ SSvalves, tit. retainers, triple springs or $350 to $500 needing freshened. Alot of the price depends on the if the dates are correct for someones special needs. :)

Well these aren't going to be date correct for anyone because they aren't off of an actual LS6 engine from 70. They are the heads that came on the motor back in the late 80's as a crate engine.

They came off a crate LS6 ? so they are open chamber rec port 2.19 1.88 . Id say thats a good deal foryour uncle but if you were selling them to just anyone I would ask more.

i sell 990 castings for 350 -500 and they are getting hard to find with minium port work you know stuff that is not cut up.. we find mostly the later 188 of the gen 5-6.. they sell for the same just not as desirable,
