Expected gains with afr 210's
My current setup consist on a .040 over 350, gm steel crank, scat 5.7 inch rods, speed pro 10.2:1 pistons, 041 shaved .020 1.94 1.50 , custom grind flat tappet cam 244I 254E @.050 .513I .533E on a 108, comp roller rockers, rpm air gap intake, mighty demon 750, Th350, 3500 stall 4.10 gears. Thanks for your help. The Car has ran a best of 7.97 @ 86 mph with a 1.8 60 foot. It spun about 10-15 feet. So If I added a set of afr 210's a edelbrock super victor intake would kinda gains do you guys think I might see

hey sbcnova, glad to see a neighbor on here. i live between leeds and pell city and am usually at steel test and tunes on sundays. Do you go to steele or lassiter mountain? maybe i will run in to you if we havent already. I have a friend of 20 years that has lived inbetween trussville and chalkville that races a nova. Steve Overby. His 355 small block with stock rods and crank, flat top pistons and bowtie heads and a circle track grind roller cam has been running 5.80s! Thats with 400 horse of nitrous off the line. this motor was raced for 7 years and he simply could not blow it up. He cracked the block all the way down the lifter valley and jb welded it up and raced it another year before selling the motor. Why cant I have luck like that?
Anyhow, i bought a set of 225 208/160 race heads from patriot performance in gadsden. they have all the goodies of the afr's including 100%cnc porting.
The best part was that I walked in, told them my combo and what I was trying to do and they went in the back and brought out my heads, I paid about $1500 bucks and by that afternoon they were on the car. Check out their website. dont know the web address, just search patriot performance cylinder heads. Best of all, I melted a head while leaning out my motor on nitrous and took it to them, they repaired the head, had it ready the next day and didnt charge me a dime. As a matter of fact, when he said no charge he gave me some tee-shirts. The guys name is Gunner. The heads flow great.Their flow charts and dyno info is on their site.
What year nova do you have? I have a boat load of parts ive taken off my car over the years.mines a 72 model. I have a few local friends around that run novas, so if you need anything let me know and we can probably round it up. Good to talk to you, Tony

I'm not even going to guess on the improvement....but i guarantee there will be a nice one. I have had my 210's on anything from a 327 to my current 383, And have been very satisfied on each combo.
I'm just wondering at what point i need to step up to a larger head? If ever? I have gone 9.80 135 at 2700 ft. and i know it will go 9.5 at a good track closer to sea lvl.
Keep us informed Jim
