Fuel Pump qeustion

#1 Post by FOFITTY » Mon Mar 31, 2008 10:36 am

I have a BG 220HR fuel pump set up on a return system (-10 supply and return).Anybody know how much horsepower this pump will support? I make 505 on motor and im spraying 150. Its rated at 220gph and i was wondering if i am good for a little more Shot (maybe 50 or so). I know there is a formula but dont really understand it. How much will HP will this pump really support? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Larry

You want to run the one pump for both motor and nitrous is that correct.
If so in my recommendation run to seperate systems easier to flow test
and tune with.
I believe that the 220gph as far a gallans per horsepower with 650 your are right on the max. I would say a 400 but definately a 500 for sure.
I run a a 280 for motor and a 280 for nitrous 750 motor and 300 1st stage and still wont keep up with 2nd stage.
I think you will see IF guys are not running the 500's then they are running to seperate systems.
Treat Every day as it were your last.

Thanks for the reply.I wanted to try to step up 25-50hp this weekend until I get my stand alone system in. I was wondering if I had enough pump to spray a little more. If im boderline I will probably be leave it alone. If I could step it up a little I have a chance at winning the whole thing( or blowing up looks like) Thanks again
