DO I HAVE ENOUGH PUMP?

#1 Post by julven » Fri Dec 30, 2005 3:29 pm

My motor is around 500HP and i will be running 150hp settings on a nos cheater plate. My fuel pump is a BG280.I want to run one pump. The car went 11.39 @115 1/4 mile last year with the 125 hp settings. i have upgraded to a good custom converter for the coming year and was going to work on the fuel system. Are the modifed holley regulators that pro systems sells good enough for what i am doing?thanks in advance for the input.Jason

Jason,

You may find some helpful technical info here: http://productengr.com/

When I order a pump, that is where it will come from. I spoke with the owner and he sold his original company to MagnaFlow which you now see in Summit, Jegs, etc. He said he can now sell pumps again but they have been modified slightly and are of a newer design. Some of his stuff is pricey but from what I have read on a bunch of the forums, you pretty much get what you pay for. He seemed very helpful to me.

ProSystems has a good rep too but I can't say that I've read anything about their regulators.

I think I'm going to give one of these pumps a try when my Comp140 gives out http://www.racepumps.com/ They are supposed to be coming out with a big block version soon. I think the cheap Holley regulators will do a fine job, those are the ones NX said to use with their kits. I've got a Hitman Plus kit 50-200.
