Torco fuels

#1 Post by Josh W » Wed Jan 11, 2006 4:04 am

My track switched brands of fuel this year. They used to sell VP but changed to Torco. I was planning on using the VP C-16. Torco has a Mach 116 that has very similar specs to the VP. Specific gravity is the same and motor octane is 2 numbers less (115 vs 117). Does anyone have any experience with Torco fuels? Does the Torco fuels tune the same as VP stuff?

Hey Josh,

I don't have any experience with the Torco stuff but it would make pretty good sense to back down on the tune up a bit and make some tests hits when trying a new fuel until you can see how it works.

I run 13:1 compression in my car and at the beginning of last summer I was running the VP 112 stuff and then found a retailer for Torco that was closer to the house.

I was getting actual better cleaner spark plug readings with the same tune up. I'm normal aspirated, but the car seemed to actually respond better and didnt load up as quickly in traffic.

just my two cents..

:) good luck with your setup!

Scott
