New higher power plate

I don't know many people using Higher Power nitrous equipment so I thought I'd start this thread to track my progress. I'm just getting around to installing it. Here's a couple pics of the plate out of the box, and a couple more after its been modified to fit my intake optimaly.

Im currently making a plate the fit the prosessive controller in the glove box, but i haven't completly desided where I want it yet.

Haha ya i'm sure you could turn it into a grill if you wanted to.... But i'm sure colman sells a purpose built one for a bit cheaper!

We tested one on my car last month for the first time. How big a shot you going to be spraying on it? How many pulsoids?

Bottom line is I need to do more testing to tell anything conclusive but for the most part it was positive. We tested the plate with approximately 20 hp less nitrous on it than what I was using on my big shot plate which was the closest I could get with the jets I have. It went 5.31@135.56 where as the big shot plate went best ever 5.29@136.17. It would have been nice to test A/B/A back to back, but that is tough to do, these passes were made on different dates but D/A was about the same 1500 feet. We were spraying 160 hp on the spider (200 on the big shot) and those are real numbers that I verified flow testing both plates. I believe where the spider will likely show it's advantage is on a larger tune up as it has much higher flow capacity than the big shot or a double cross and better ability to control distribution.

Hi John

I'm running one set of the 350hp pulsoids, planning on spraying around a 200 shot, and maybe go up as far as 300 if everything works out. Were you fellas using the 4500 or 4150 series plate?

Oh ok i have a 4150. Any tips or tricks for the first time setting it up? Were you guys using the Max Extreme controller as well, or just using a fixed hit? I don't have the biggest tires so i thought progessive would be the way to go for my application. My pulsoids have Y's thredded into the outlets so i can have fuel and nitrous entering both sides ofthe plate.

so what you are saying john is from your findings so far is that to get similar hp increases in a comparison,the spider style plate used less nitrous in effect saying the spider is more bang for the buck..>? how much do these plates run and where to find? i thought i seen one before in internet but pricing was hard to see.also do you need 8 jets on nitrous side and 8 jets on fuel kinda like a fogger then?

You can jet the lil legs individualy if you need an adjustment cylinder to cylinder. For my set up it has one nitrous jet, and 2 fuel.

The concept seems real nice. But is it just me, or does it look like it would hender air flow?? :scratch:

On this particular test we were running it fixed, I do use the older Maximizer Controller on my 2nd stage. The progressive is a good idea and we've always had pretty good luck with the Max. We were using the same pulsoid setup you're talking about with the Y on the outlets and 200 jets for Nitrous and 130's for Fuel in the Y's - that will flow about 160 hp at 5.9:1 N/F. During testing we were taking fuel out, never did get it leaned out good yet - mph will pick up when we do and a little ET.
