Which Nitrous Kit??????????
Ok guys, I know this subject has probably come up many times before but I need some Opinions.
I am wanting to get a nitrous kit for my camaro in the near future. I kinda want a kit that has a pretty wide range of adjustment. Something that has a fairly low setting like 100shot so I can get used to it, but I also want something that has a fairly high setting so that when i do get the hang of it I wont have to buy a new kit or upgrade a ton. Price is not really that big of a deal because i will just save and get what is best.
P.s. I did see the article in the car craft "nitrous plate shootout"
Thanks
Adam

In my opinion a good starter kit is the old NOS Cheater plate. You can find them pretty reasonable used. It's a good one to get started on and a used one won't cost a bundle if you want to go that route. The bigger plates aren't that happy down at the 100hp - 150hp level. I'd suggust starting there and when you're ready to step up sell the cheater and get a higher flowing plate like the speedtech, wilson, NOS double cross or a direct port system. I have a highpower system on mine that is progressive, if you'd like to look at it I should have the car at MoKan Friday night.

The Hitman plus goes 50-200 and is upgradeable with just bigger solenoids, nice billet plate too. www.nitrousexpress.com NX didnt do too bad in that plate shootout either !!

Hey Bob, thanks for the reply, and I actually been checking out the NX kits, and i have really liked some of there setups. I hear that they also have a great tech line. I am really kinda leaning towards NX. I also wanna say that i think your car is really nice and sounds like you are getting it to run very well. Keep it up. talk to ya later

I really appreciate the offer, but I think that I found the kit that I want. If I hear of anyone wanting that type of kit then I will send them your way. Thanks again

john,
i have been quite interested in this subject since i had good experience with my big shot plate. worth metioning is that the wilson plate had the best "average". (it is a very nice plate) even holding as many variables constant as possible, each plate still had over 20hp swings up and down without much explanation. not saying that each plate is equal, but it does add credibility that a good nitrous tuner can continually work to optimize their combination and get very good results. those variables that the test held constant were same engine, same solenoids, same bottle, same bottle temp, same feed lines, same jets. as we all know, those variables can easily swing way more than the 20+hp quoted differences.

Exactly.. one thing that bothers me about that test CC did is they didn't list torque figures, you would hope if there was something worth mentioning about that they would have commented on it, but I would have liked to see those numbers anyway. I have a feeling torque might have shown more variation? Also cyl temps would have been nice to see.
