Nitrous 1970 Cuda

Hello Guys .. Im Raffaele from Italy .. I have a 70 Cuda with 496 Big block , my best ET is 10.33@135 mph .. This is my combo :

440-496 stroker
Indyheads cnc ported ez295
12.75 cr with ross pistons flat top
Roller camshaft compcams
Roller rockers harland
TTI headers 3,5"
Single plane Intake with 1050 quick fuel
Edelbrock nitrous system with 250 hp jets
Msd 6AL with timing retard
Activation is with delay box set at 2.8 sec after starting
Transmission 727 torque monster kit
Ultimate converter 5000 rpm stall
Detroit locker with 4.10 ratio

Have you tried your plate out yet? You should be able to drop well into the 9's with a small shot I'd think.

Have you tried the "Edelbrock nitrous system with 250 hp jets " out yet? I assumed it was a plate.

If you see the picture of my plate .. Is a eddy plate with 102 nitrous jet and 108 fuel jet

Jetting is probably way off base. I bet it's very fat. There's your 9 second pass right there with some tuning.

Hi john ! i tried in may with 200 and 250 hp jet .. no change ! best ET was 10.00 with roll cage install !!
i dont understand jetting off base ?? 200 HP jetting is 78 nitrous and 93 fuel !!

78 Nitrous and 93 Fuel is what people used to use like 10 years ago that were crazy fat. What kind of nitrous setup do you have? More than likely you need something more like 78 N / 60 Fuel.

Yes this is the jet number that i have found on my edelbrock nitrous kit ... Have around 8/10 years !!

Listen to John and his recommendations for jet size with your nitrous plate.

It's so fun seeing how much difference a correct tune up will make. It'll be an eye opener for sure lol..

What is your base timing on this car on motor only, and how much are you currently pulling for your nitrous? Do you have something that retards the timing when your nitrous activates?

Your edelbrock tuneup that came with your plate is junk, I'd bet we can make it go quicker on an even smaller jet than you're now using.

i have older nitrous plate edelbrock buy in 2006 .. i have 78 nitrous jet and 94 fuel jet ...,total timing is 35 degree 5 degree of retard whe nirous is actived ... need install new plate ??
