Relay Response Time
Does anyone know how long it takes for a regular ice cube style relay to change state? For example I have a relay that interrupts the nitrous circuit while the car is on the transbrake. I believe its taking .010 for it to change state and activate the nitrous. Anyone know if that is common?

YES THAT IS COMMON. THATS WHY MOST PEOPLE DONT USE THEM ON A TRANS BRAKE. A SOLID STATE RELAY MAKE BE QUICKER. JOHN

Re: Relay Response Time
The relay doesn't control the transbrake solenoid, it interupts the N2O activation circuit so the nitrous doesn't come on while on the launch rev limit. Got any idea what model solid state relay works well?

the best is omron but you need a dc to dc one and they have different current ratings.

I like Omron stuff, I'll go dig around and see what I can come up with. There's something about those things that becomes an issue but dang if I can remember what it is - getting them to shut off after the trigger voltage has been dropped? Maybe that was just DC controlling AC, dang it's been a long time since I worked with SSR's.
