Alternator Internal Regulators

#1 Post by Craig W. » Tue Jan 20, 2015 1:16 pm

Is there any adjustment on internal regulators? Can a regulator set to 14.5 be turned up to over 16v somehow?

I believe you can buy the parts to convert internal regulator ones. Don't remember where I saw the parts/kit though.

I was looking at some regulators on Ebay when the thought of somehow tweaking the voltage popped in my head. Would be nice to bump it up to maybe 15v.

After more reading, it looks like my alternator should already be set for 14.9v. Highest I'm seeing going down the track is 13.5v, which is a lot better than it was with the lower amp alternator I had before.
