Re: solid trans mount
Not recommended at all. Use a stocker or urethane type mount, I've heard many times of people cracking their trans case when using a solid mount.

Re: solid trans mount
X3, Rubber mount here, I would rather break the mount than the case.
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.
Re: solid trans mount
Yep, urethane for me. I've heard tales many times of folks shredding their trans case using solid rear mounts...

Re: solid trans mount
I broke my TH350 at the end of last season because I was not aware of the issue of torque vs. aluminum. I pulled a section of the trans out that was being held in by the driverside trans mount bolt. The problem does not look bad except that it leaks quarts out the cracked area. The problem was that I was misinformed. I was told that if you are running solid motor mounts that you have to run a solid trans mount. That bit of WRONG info is costing me lots.
My stupidity should be a lesson.

Re: solid trans mount
The only time you can run a solid trans mount that I know of is when you are using motor plates AND a mid plate.

Re: solid trans mount
Well I guess I'll be different...
I ran steel motor mounts and a solid trans mount for years, never had a problem. Guess maybe I was just lucky.

I forgot to add I put a ultra bell on my trans this year....I cracked 2 350ths last year ......so i changed every thing ...motor mounts pinion angle ...rear setup ultrabell ....new 1 piece floorpan new paint ...new hood ... new fiberglass trunk lid... carpet I love my new hood from VFN...it gets rid of the vents for your wipers and the cowl goes to your winshield...............................
