Manual Valve body in a TH350 ?
What is the benefit to having a manual valve body in a TH350 vs. just having a shift kit. Does it make it stronger, live longer, or what? I've got another car now, it has a tranny that has taken a lot of HP, and it is living with a lot less than other tranny's.

sometimes even with shift kit the shifts are delayed at full throttle.that does not happen with a manual valve body.

Without a manual valve body a T-350 will try to shift to 2nd gear while you have it in low gear because of high fluid pressure. It's like in two gears at once and drags the power of the motor down. I've had it happen to one of my high hp sb cars that had a T-350 in it. When i shifted to 2nd gear it would come unglued and spin the tires. It was like releasing the parking brake. I put a manual V/B in it and that fixed it.
