Aluminum link bars on cal-tracs ?

#1 Post by JES » Fri Jun 12, 2009 12:41 am

John Heard, I read an old post of yours 01/08/08 that you were thinking of trying an aluminum bar between the hyme joints. Did you do this, and did it work? I too have built my own Cal-trac style similar to SuperNova, but had the real thing to take masurements from. I bought aluminum links from SpeedWay, but have not been to the track yet. Thanks John Eric

No - I never did get around to trying those out last year. A number of my friends were somewhat skeptical about them holding up, and I'm a little concerned myself.

Thanks John. I guess I'll find out on the 19th as this is our first friday night t&t / SLD. Thinking at my power level they will be fine. I'll keep all informed. John

That's good to know. Maybe I'll try mine out one of these days.
