With any small tire car with higher HP, your gonna find the sidewalls are beat up and dead long before the tread is worn down. Some change tires in 8 to 10 passes, some may get up to 30 passes. I just replaced my 295 Hoosier drag radials with 46 runs on them, probably should have replaced them at 30.
I'd also say any tire over 1 year old is likely due for replacement...unless it's a low HP deal.

Re: drag slick life expectancy??
We are finding this is very true, we run a heavy car with 10.5 wides and about 1500hp, sidewalls do not like it at all.DOTracer wrote:With any small tire car with higher HP, your gonna find the sidewalls are beat up and dead long before the tread is worn down. When we put new tires on its like driving a whole new car.

Re: drag slick life expectancy??
I have noticed that with my mid-high 9 second combo, 3200lbs on a 28x10.5w tire after 40 +/- runs 60's go from 1.32 to 1.36 or so and after 80 runs it goes to the mid 1.4's. There is still a lot of tread left, but the side walls are shot.

30x9 Hoosier slicks on 3200lbs nova runs 10.0X and occasional 9.9Xs get about 45 passes on a set and 60 ft goes away.
