line lock
I have a 55chevy and am thinking of going with a line lock. It have 4 disk manual master and prop valve. I have two front brake lines and will but both together on the bottom port. Any probles stoping it on the street?
My car is not as fast as I think it is.
Re: line lock
The line lock shouldnt effect the way the car stops. You should plumb the port on the master to the line lock then one line out to each front caliper.
Re: line lock
the line lock will not effect your brakes as they are now, you plumb the line lock right off the master cylinder were the front line hooked up to master. so you have a short line to in side of line lock from front master and front line into out side of linelock to front brakes
when you put on brakes and push button to line lock and let off brakes with button pushed, front brakes are locked
when line lock hasnt been acctivated brakes are normall like they have always been

Re: line lock
what about my prop valve? I have two lines that come out of the master and go to the block. The block have two lines that come off the block for the front and one in the back for the rear.

Re: line lock
put the line lock between the master and the block , on the line the goes to the front
Re: line lock
If it helps, here's a shot of my install - its a TCI RollStop.

Re: line lock
Hey wikd69 what kind of distributor do you have? It sure is mounted in a funny place
Re: line lock
lol - yeah, looks weird there - I popped the cap off while hoicking the motor around while the trans is out... Otherwise, I end up doing damage to the cap and to my finished firewallsc racing wrote:Hey wikd69 what kind of distributor do you have? It sure is mounted in a funny place

Re: line lock
I like using the Hurst button on the shifter. I dont have a Hurst line lock but the button is nice.jaspermaggie wrote:ware do you have your button?
Re: line lock
Here's my setup. I have both a transbrake and a rollstop so I needed a button for each. This seemed to be a bit busy so I decided to use a single button for both. Note the big black button on the shifter - this changes function based on what is selected via the 3-way rocker switch in the little aluminum box behind the shifter. The red safety supplies power and the rocker switch sets the button in either transbrake (as seen here) or rollstop mode (all the way to the left), or to nothing, with the rocker centered. I placed this stuff where I did so that you could find it and switch modes between the water box and the tree without having to hunt for things... Even with gloves on you can feel the power and rocker switch and the positive click the rocker makes lets you know when you've changed modes from one to the other.sc racing wrote:I like using the Hurst button on the shifter. The aluminum box was a cheap hobby kit box from Frys Electronics. I mounted the power and rocker switches along witht the green LED and then bolted it to the floor plate behind the shifter. This seems to work fine.

I once dated a girl from Aloha. She still lives in Tigard or Beaverton there somewhere. I was living down in Salem at the time.
Nice part of the state.
