Slick mounting help

#1 Post by BracketNova » Sun Mar 14, 2010 11:16 pm

Hey fellas,

mounted my slicks and I'm having some problems. One of my slicks was fine. It's a 10.5" on a 12" rim no tubes 12 screws no problems. The other is fighting me. Life is good till I go to put the rim screws in I'm not sure if I need to buy new screws...like the tips are dull or something? But basically it all goes well till the last turn in. That last little bit causes the tire to start leaking around the bead...almost like it's pushing the tire off the rim. I've tried pre drilling the tires a bit but that doesn't help.

I tried searching for help - but we all know what you get wen you search for "rim screws".

Any ideas?

Anyone dealt with this before.
