Cooler line idea...P/G

I had a thought and if anyone has done this, please let me know how it worked.
I'm getting ready to pull my P/G out and I just hate messing with tranny fluid, so I thought, what if I installed ball valves on the inlet and outlet cooler lines with a male #6 fitting to connect to my braided lines.
I was thinking if I came off of the tranny with a short section of steel line, then into a 1/4" full flow ball valve, then when I wanted to pull the tranny, shut the valves off and disconnect them and this would save the fluid inside the tranny.
I guess if I really wanted to, I could put ball valves on the braidsteel lines as well to save the fluid inside of them.
Would this idea work???
I was doing some reading and it sounds like there are some mixed opinions on the quick connect tranny line fittings, so this made me think....
