I know I have caught some flack for it on other sites, as "everybody" has them on the rear brakes, but the reason the proportioning valve is installed on the fronts on race cars is the skinny front tires have little tire patch actually contacting the pavement. With the big meats in the back, you will lock the fronts before the rears start to grab...

Nope you're not the only one. Went back and thought about it, and said wait a minute that isn't right. I checked my car today because I started to think I did it for the small tires. And it is on the fronts. You are 100% correct. On a street car, it works on the rears because the nose drops and the rears want to lock up. On a drag car with tiny tires, you do it to keep the fronts from locking up so easily. I texted Bruce at lunch today to tell him the same thing. :thumb:

I had two long emails from my friends at S&W and they told me, it needs to go on the front.

The explanation is just how mytmouz and bracketchev1221 stated, you need to balance out the pressure to keep those small skinny tires from locking up.

I also had a nice talk with Mickey, from Mickey's Chassisworks and he said this is always a big discussion in his shop. He laughed and said they just had this same talk just the day before I called. He told me to install it in front as well and said for me to get a pressure gauge and set up 800psi in the front and 1100psi in the rear.

After talking to my new "crew chief" and re-reading the instructions, we decided to try it with the valve half way to see if that helps.
