C-clip eliminators and 30 spline axles

#1 Post by PANDER » Tue Mar 06, 2018 2:27 pm

Looking to get any info from anybody about c-clip eliminators, do you have to use them and is it
Worth messing with? Also I have some 30 spline strange axles stock size and splines of coarse
But any ideas on if they will hold up to a round about 750-800 hp engine leaf spring car? Appreciate
Any feed back thank you.

According to what Strange publishes, their SS axle, 30 spline is only good for up to 450HP.
For the HP you listed, I'd go with 35 spline.

As for the "C" clips, I'm not sure, I use a 9" Ford.
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

bruce,

I'd pull the rear end and replace the housing tube ends with ford or olds bearing housing ends. That way you can replace the c-clip setup and go with stouter aftermarket axles. It's not cheap, but it is good insurance. I can provide you with the design drawings I did when I did that for mine. It'll change your brake setup as well, but if done correctly, you can cut over to ford or olds backing plates and drums if thats what you're running now, or, pick up a set of aftermarket disc brakes. Let me know if I can provide any of my design materials, its for a 12-bolt rear end, so it should be pretty close to what you need.

Harry thanks for the reply, not sure I follow what you mean on that but I’m going to get the
C-clip eliminator kit from strange and do it that way but I’m open to ideas I appreciate it.
