Craig Watson 5.66@122.6 on 8.5's!

#1 Post by John_Heard » Sun Oct 14, 2007 7:35 am

Craig Watson broke the OSCA record during qualifying yesterday for 26x8.5" tire class at the OSCA Race at I believe US60 Raceway in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. He ran a 5.66@122.6 with a leaf spring Nova! The previous record I believe set by a stock suspension Mustang was 5.71.

Way to go Craig!

Thanks guys! It was a really fast field of cars and it feels really good to have qualified #1.

I wish I knew what the 60' was, but the timing system wasn't giving us that increment yesterday. Based on past runs, I think it might have been about a 1.29.

Hey John, remember that tune-up we worked on all day at Ozark? That's pretty much what was in the car on the .66 pass. I guess that testing paid off after all :-)

Another Dragstuff member also did really well at the OSCA race. Tim Kelly went to the finals, which I believe pulled him up into 5th in points for the year. That'll be worth some goodies and a nice VP Fuel jacket at the awards banquet. Way to go Tim!

Thanks man! I don't know about the most impressive. There are some awesome rides on Dragstuff that could clean my clock.

The 1.29 is speculation. I've been 1.32 multiple times and I feel confident the 60' was faster than that. But the timeslip didn't have a 60' ET, so I can't say for sure.

5.89...nice!

I think 5th last year got a couple VP fuel jugs, a very nice embroidered VP fuel jackets and a plaque.

Patrick is sending me all the videos he shot, so I'll send that one along to you. The MOV wasn't much I don't think. Wish we could have had full timeslips.

Hope you can race with us next year.

So what happened with Pouw's side of the tree? Sounded like a lot of controversy.

There are definitly a lot of awesome cars here but yours just seems to stand out.I guess its a tie for most impressive with about a dozen or so other cars.
