I didn't buy plates for mine when I bought it since it was a roller. I do have a clear title and the DMV said all I had to do was bring the title in when I have it restored. I didn't say exactly how I was going to rebuild it. I don't know what they will require beyond the title if anything when I get it drivable. I plan to make it street legal, but if it doesn't make it back on the streets that wouldn't be the end of the world. The chassis is tagged for 7.50 IHRA & NHRA. It will be a pro charged F-2 540. We'll see what happens when I cross that "Street legal" bridge.

My car is street legal with exception for the tires and single chamber flowmasters. It is tagged and all lights and blinkers work. I dont drive it on the street due to race gas cost and I dont have another set of wheels and tires.
Car runs 1.30 60 ft. 6.0 1/8th @114 mph on a 200 shot of laughing gas.

Man I wish mine went 8's on pump gas. I have just one problem its my motor its a 14.5-1 comp. 468. Looks like I need a bigger cube motor. The last owner of my car had put a 632 with spray in it and it went 7:80's-7:90's. Those motors are BIGmoney!

What are you guys using for a diff in these heavy street cars turning these times? I assume you are just running a spool and dealing with it? It would be nice if Eaton would build a 35spline TruTrac for the 9". I'm thinking 12 bolt with 33 spline TruTrac but not sure. I'm waffling as usual about what to do. Thinking now more street duty than track is probably realistic.

My car is street driven ALOT! It's a pain in the ass but I love the looks I get when pulling into shows. the race gas is a pain as well with the cost, but again, it's worth it.

After only 3 passes worth of tuning we went a 10.81 @ 119mph

I run a stock 9" housing with Mark Williams thru-bolt aluminum center section with MW steel full spool and 35 spline axles spinning 4.30 gears and 5/8" wheel studs.

I run a 9" with 35spline Moser axles and a spool. I just deal with it and don't make any u-turns. :-)

8secpumpgas,
Was it you who swapped in the Smith frontend? Someone on here with a 1st gen FBody did but I'm not sure who. Assuming you did, you're still at 3480 even with the lighter frontend? How does that frontend work on the street? Awesome car by the way. I imagine attending a cruise in with at 8sec car is pretty entertaining :-)

Yep I have the smith front end, it doesn't save as much weight as I expected, less than 100lbs. It drives great on the street and track. I wish I would've got the 200lb springs up front though, have the 180lb now.
