Best Drag Racing Songs of all time

#1 Post by John_Heard » Mon Apr 28, 2008 6:18 pm

Getting together some tunes for the racing season for getting pumped up on the long drives looking for some more ideas..

One of my favorites is Green Onion's by Booker T - from American Graffiti, it's the one they are playing when they go outside of town to race.

Gun's & Roses, Welcome to the Jungle...

Lot's more but brain dead now and looking for ideas to add to the list...

Always a good one, Sammy Hagar "Cant drive 55"

Pantera "Cowboys From Hell"

Led Zepplin "Traveling Riverside Blues"

Metallica "Fuel"

Megadeth "Symphony Of Destruction"

Limp Bizkit "Rollin"

Give me time I'll come up with more

Man, I had completely forgot about that movie. Lots of great songs came from that soundtrack. My personal favorite was Sammy Hagar's "Heavy Metal" As far as I'm concerned that was his best song EVER!!!!

One little piece of internet media that gives me a few chills when I watch it is Jim Taylor's vid of Robert Coady's drag radial Chevy II synched in with Saliva's "Ladies and Gentlemen" tune. That song turned out to be pretty popular with NHRA but, Jim used it first.

The other vid on the same page called "STOCKSUSPENSION VIDEO" is pretty good too plus, another Saliva song. If you've never seen Shannon Wren's infamous "Project X", it's in the vid.
