New drag race logbook for iPhone, iPad, and Android
I know some of you used my site - RacersLog.net - so I thought I'd drop by and let you know there is an Android version now. This app doesn't require internet access (except for Density Altitude and Backup), everything is stored directly on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. It has some really powerful graphing and analyzation features that let you see what's going on with the car.
The app is called RaceIQ. You won't find another mobile app with these features.
Android:

iPhone:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/raceiq/id504617839
Would like to say thanks to John for taking a look at the Android beta and giving me some feedback.

This app is worth it for just a quick and easy way to get the density altitude when you're at the track. Has a bunch of other cool stuff in it, this one's DragStuff Endorsed - go get it!
Zach there's one thing I noticed that you ought to update sometime soon, the font color for the calculators is hard to see, need to change that to a lighter color - the text above the text input areas is what I'm talking about.

John that might be device specific. On mine the text is black and the background is white. What's it look like on yours? If it's different on yours I need to fix it :)
And thanks for the kind words!

I figured so, on my Droid Razr the background is black and the text is real close to black - I think the only place it does that at is in the calculator section above the text inputs.

Thanks for the link, I just bought it.

I should be saying thanks!

Ok, for those of you who wanted to put this on a laptop, I have it figured out. I have converted the app to a Chrome App that can run within the Google Chrome web browser without internet connectivity. The only feature this doesn't have is the automatic weather collection - that requires GPS which most people won't have on their laptops.
If you are interested in downloading it, follow this link:

To use this you will need Google Chrome which is a completely free web browser made by Google. To get it go here:

Can you port it over to Google TV Too?
Just kidding....

You won't believe some of the requests I've gotten. The app currently runs on 4 platforms from 3 different companies, 3 OSs, and 6 different device types. People are still saying "I can't believe you don't support xyz, can you make it for that?"
I'm sure there will be a Google TV and Apple TV request in my inbox tonight

I don't know what all it requires but you might want to look into jQuery Mobile.

Thanks - played with that before on a couple small mobile sites, this one is a bit more complicated ecommerce deal.

Ah.. That may be too big to use jQuery Mobile on then. There are lots of things you can do with CSS to automatically convert to a mobile layout, but honestly most of it is above my head :) I have been doing backend processing work for too long and am still catching up to all the new web dev stuff.
You asked when you were looking at RaceIQ if there was a way for the user to get their data in CSV. I developed that last night, they can go to RaceIQ.net and get their backup downloaded as a CSV. Thanks for that suggestion.

Yeah most of what I'm struggling with is navigation, but making headway now.
Glad you liked the CSV export deal. For those that don't know what we're talking about. This means you can enter your runs via the app at the racetrack, and later when you're at home download all that info in .csv format and import it into a spreadsheet like Excel

Navigation is a pain in the tail on phones, especially if the same navigation is supposed to look decent on a larger display. I had to do some tricks in the app so that the screens dynamically changed their layout depending on the resolution of the device.
Are you using a library to do any of it or are you hand coding it all?
