Welcome to the group, thats a pretty cool ride !!!
I'm in Northern Calif as well, in the Sacramento area. Every pass through these parts ?
I may do that, though I'll go broke if I do it too often lol... Pretty close to a dollar a mile, cruising with mine on the street. Still, ribs.... mmmmmm...

I noticed your signature, I'm guessing then you might have to fuel mix with that $390 per 30 gallon a barrel stuff, or it just gets 4 mpg. What is your torque converter's stall speed? I don't know if the aftermarket guys build a 700R4 strong enough for your car's weight and power, but some of the T gang use it on their fly weight rides. Allows a loose 3000 rpm stall converter for ripping, but can lock up for cruising, dropping the heat generation, and giving a big boost in mpg.

Naw, I'm able to run 91 pump gas though I avoid making a lot of boost on the street. My converter is pretty loose, high 3K range, with a 4K stall on the brake. Trans heat is not too much of an issue, I'm running a big trans cooler and yeah, my mileage is down between 4 and 5 miles per gallon. But they're *really* good milesdeckofficer wrote:I noticed your signature, I'm guessing then you might have to fuel mix with that $390 per 30 gallon a barrel stuff, or it just gets 4 mpg. Then maybe I should plan on a Sacramento run to hook up with you. I don't expect anywhere near the mpg I got with the 383 (broke 30 mpg going to SoCal, 70 mph @ 1700 rpm), but should get 12~14 mpg with the 427. I haven't driven it enough to know yet, still on the same tank but the needle is moving faster towards empty than it did with the 383.wikd69 wrote:Naw, I'm able to run 91 pump gas though I avoid making a lot of boost on the street. There is a Wednesday nite gathering at Red Robin in Folsom during the summer that I try to make whenever possible. There's some crazy stuff that shows up there, my blower car usually has good company. Also, Downtown Tuesday Nites in Roseville during the summer is pretty cool and draws a lot of folks. Beyond these, there are bunches of different events going on around the valley every week, you just need to pick and choose which ones you want to frequent.deckofficer wrote:Then maybe I should plan on a Sacramento run to hook up with you. I am planning on making the Kool April Nites event (http://www.koolaprilnites.com/) up in Redding in mid-April, assuming I get this build finished and get it cleaned up in time. I'm doing some paint work on the cage and chassis and replacing the top end at the moment. I just ordered new Manton pushrods earlier this week and have what I need to get the motor back together and stuff back in the car. I'll have to keep busy to make the April 17th date for Kool April Nites but I'm pretty sure it's doable. If you've not done the Redding event before it's a lot of fun. They get somewhere around 2500 to 2800 cars that show up for the week - it's sort of a min-Hot August Nites type thing. Lots of folks, lots of stuff going on and I get to visit with some other hard core guys from out of town. They do a big cruise on Friday nite down near the mall with prolly 125K people lining the 2.5 mile route. They block off the streets and cruise 4 lanes of hotrods around. It's pretty awesome and again, you can roll next to some pretty obnoxious iron...
Let me know if you think you might want to head down this way or up to Redding and we can arrange to meet.

Hey Harry,
Can you please update Bob on the "jealousy and envy" mental condition, of several of the Nova owners that belong to this site......
Oh yeah, I also forgot, there is that one Chevelle owner that is a "little" wacky as well...
We don't want him to be scared off because of these members, whom choose not to seek help by purchasing a Camaro.
Welcome to the site Bob.

Don't say that too loud or you'll wake the "Nova" natives.....
They always seems to have a smell for us Camaro guys. I actually think it's the smell of our exhaust because they're always behind us.....
I'm surprised a guy called "supernova" isn't hear attacking us already....give him time.

Thanks! I use a few different forums for other types of things but have never really been able to find a good Drag Racing forum. I look forward to checking out the site, and maybe getting some technical advice, from time to time.
