Time for some changes
Fella's Dragstuff.com has been around for almost 11 years now in pretty much the same setup as it is now. This site started as a small single page classifieds page that I put up because another one I was using started charging for posting, that got a lot of traffic and folks wanted a forum, so we added it.
Later I added the directory of manufacturers because some of the little guys out there are hard to find. Later on I started adding some tech articles as well.
Our forum hit it's peak years ago and has been steadily declining for quite a while, it doesn't have much traffic on it now. Sure we have a few members that still visit frequently, but it's nothing like it was years ago. I know most are over at Yellowbullet, Facebook, etc. and nothing wrong with that.
Classifieds has pretty much died off as well, sure we get a few but let's face it not that popular.
Here soon I'm going to overhaul this site and do some updating, so looking for our remaining users advice - I'm tempted to kill the forum soon, maybe the directory as well. I'll be keeping the tech article section for sure. But other than that what do you guys see a need for?
Any suggestions?

Is hate to see the forum go. But that's your call. Maybe just downsize it instead of deleting it completely?

I hate to see it go as well, even though I don't use it as much as I once did. YB is too big and too adversarial to get too involved with. I read the technical section in spurts but rarely post since someone will likely end up trying to slit your throat for your opinion. So its nice to have a smaller forum where we can talk tech as adults and not have to wade through the mess of YB.
I'm sure there are others that feel that same that might find DS a breath of fresh air if they'd come join us.

I hate to see the forum go as well, but I kept asking myself I wonder how much longer John will keep this up and running?
It's your call John, but there is a good bunch of people on this site that does offer great advice.
Anyhow, whatever you decide on, Thank you for everything that you offered us and it has been a fun ride.

Re: Time for some changes
I would hate to see the forum go but I understand as well, we had a small local forum here that suffered the same fate a couple of years ago. Like others have said, it is nice to have some tech help/advice without all of the BS. Which ever way you go, I want to thank you for providing this forum for us over the years and all of the help that you and other have passed on to myself.
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.
Re: Time for some changes
Me too - I'd miss the forum here and all of the folks here. Yellow Bullet is a good reference for research and miscellaneous stuff, but I don't post or interact there - it's too much of a snake pit. Thats the reason I hang out here John. This forum and group of folks is more like a big racing family - not something you find very often, but I understand if you decide to discontinue the forum. I'm sure it takes work to maintain and manage.

This is my first stop when I get on the net. I don't post that often, but I like to check in to see what's going on. I have enjoyed the build threads and have learned some stuff along the way. Thanks John for a no BS forum, Walt

Re: Time for some changes
I did a bit more digging, looks like the forum is more active than I thought, we get more traffic in this part of the site than I thought. We just a have a lot of quiet visitors it looks like. We'll keep this around a while longer, good to hear the support from you guys.
