Here is my latest race report for this past weekend. Oh ya, it's back to being fun again.

Thanks!
Here are the video clips from that day.
I included the mishap clips along with the good ones, just so everyone can see it's sometimes not as easy as it looks.
If you watch this first clip close enough, you will notice the car doing a little side to side dance.

Tough to see in this clip, but it was a repeat of what happened in the very first one.

Mike how low was your voltage getting to when the solenoids were dropping out? Are you running a 12 volt battery setup or 16?
Congrat's on a new PB!

I was running one 16V. When both stages came on the voltage dropped to 11.2, which is why we suspected the battery. All we changed from Saturday to Sunday was the addition of a second 16V battery, and the trouble went away. During the run there are 8 solenoids on plus 2 fuel pumps and the water pump. I am going to do some in-garage testing this week to see why there is so much draw.

Those cars use a lot of juice with all the electrical load they have. It would be interesting to hear how many amps the solenoids are drawing.

The guy from Canada with the alternator business could probably line you out with sufficient charging capacity to carry all that stuff. I think he has a handle on all things in the auto racing electrical field. The address is http://www.svapowerproducts.com. P.S..... I almost forgot, congratulations on the new personal best.Mike-Casella wrote:I was running one 16V. When both stages came on the voltage dropped to 11.2, which is why we suspected the battery.
