New guy here from California. I have lurked here for quit a while but just recently found a car to build. Its a 69 Nova 6 cyl car that will soon have a built 496, turbo 400 and dana 60 rear. I already have the engine, trans, full caltrac suspension and other goodies. Still need to order the rearend. Right now the subframe is off and all the body bushings, control arms bushing are getting replaced. Also uprgrading the front to disk. Looking forward to getting it going here in the next few months.
Thanks Todd

All right.. Score another one for the Nova's! Those dang Camaro's were starting to get a foot hold here lately.
Welcome to the site Todd..
PS - Why a Dana 60 and not a 9"? Those are quite a bit heavier...

The Dana appeals to me for the following reasons.
1. Very strong
2. Strange Eng. has a really good deal on these for what you get. Under 1900 bucks for a new housing, spool, 35 spline axles with studs, street gears and built to my width specs with spring perches installed.
3. Look cool from the back.
I know they are heavier but I really am not looking to save every pound or care to chase gear ratios. Am I making a big mistake in your opinion?
Thanks Todd

You've got the disadvantages nailed, but if those things aren't that important then it's certainly strong enough. Really just depends on what you want to do with the car. Dana 60's do look sexy..

I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.

Hey Todd,
Looks like you found yourself a nice car, it's not a Camaro, but it will do, right Harry...
Please tell me those "big" meats in the garage are for the Nova?
What do you plan to do with the car?
Hey John, it's cool to be jealous
Bruce

Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

The meats are cool, but I think you guys would kick my a$$ off this forum if I put them on my Nova.
As for my plans, I have always wanted to go drag racing so thats what I plan to do. Not competitivly but more of a hobbie and to show my kids how to work on a car. The car will have a 275-60-15 drag radial or 28x9 slicks. It will not be a long distance car since the current engine I have is 13.1 with a pretty stout solid roller. I do plan on driving it around town once in a while.
Thanks again for all the welcomes. I am sure you will all be sick of me once all the newbie questions start rolling in.
Todd

Those must be the new rain slicks that M/T was coming out with.
