Hi Josh,

Welcome to a great site, you have a lot of fun while learning a great deal of knowledge.

Listen carefully, if other members on this site try to corrupt you with the word "NOVA",
just tell them, you already know there is one car and that is a CAMARO.....

Ain't that right Harry?

Bruce
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

See, even Supernova was caught day dreaming about owning a big tired, big block Camaro, during his first post.

He had to come back a second time after he realized he still owned a Nova.... lmao2:

About John, we can't say anything bad about him owning a Nova, because he's the keeper of the gate :prayer:

O,K,.....o.k. ..... back to Camaros. cheesygrin: Everybody (but me) had to work this weekend, we celebrated Father's day Thursday, so I had the weekend to work on the firewall. Got a fair amount done.

Since this WILL be a street legal car, I found a new spot to display the trim code tag.

I stuffed it between the strut tube & the inlet side of the intercooler.
Also made paper patterns for a couple more pieces of the puzzle.

Thanks Guys for the welcome......A little info about my car......I am at this time redoing the frame and other things on it I didn,t like the way the back half was done. Other up date that are done is the front end. I have installed Tubed Aarms, rack and pinion, QA1 coil over system and drop spindles.. Things coming up..New seats, dash and a tilt front end....The engine is a SBC with a weiand 671 blower, 2 Edelbrock carbs. Trans is a 400 with 3500 stall convertor. Aluminun drive shaft back to a ford 9" with 4/11 gears out to MT 31x16.5 sportsman tires on dragstar rims. That all for now this site has been a lot of help for me.....This car will be a street car 80% of the time.

Hi all,

I’ve been watching in the background for some time now and just registered recently.

I’m a Buckeye from NE Ohio. I’m married (15 yrs) with a boy (8) and a girl (almost 2). I have a 70 Nova that I’ve owned since `88. It’s a basic 400hp 355cid 10.6 cr FT hyd cam SBC with an old Doug Nash 4+1 5 spd and an 8.5” 10 bolt. The nova is basically a 50/50 street/strip car. The trans and rear gearing is setup to where I run 1 thru 4 at the track and 5th is strictly for the street. My goal is to have a 12.0 @ 114 1/4 mile car that will get @ 20mpg and I can drive anywhere.

Here’s a short history:
The car was painted back in the winter of `91, the engine was rebuilt in `02, the long style clutch was installed in `04, the trans was rebuilt in late`08 and installed last fall, and the rearend was redone this past winter. Right now, the current project is the suspension and front brakes. Rebuilding/modifying the clutch will be next on the list. Then maybe I’ll get the car painted and then rebuild the engine and .......

I think there might be a pattern starting here. LOL

So far I’m at mid 12’s @ 111 with 18 mpg – almost there. The suspension & clutch should help abunch in the et department.

I follow and run with (when time allows) a stick shift group in Ohio – UMTR (United Manual Transmission Racers) – Northern Division. http://www.umtrnorth.com/
The only requirement is a 3rd pedal!!!! :thumb:

Add another Nova to the membership!! ;)

Yea, there's a 3rd pedal.
