Welcome to the site if I didn't already welcome you before?
Are you near the Clifton Park area? I got a buddy that owns Empire State Chassis and if your near that area, you should stop bye and see him.

Hey folks
Another newbe here,I'm Jon from southwest indiana.I am kinda old to be a newbe but.....20 years ago I got outa cars and hotrods and drag racing.Last year I started getting that itch again and am just getting started buiding a 1956 ford f100 to do a little sportsman racing. Its a 460,13.1 dove heads,C4 and a 4 link 9" with 4.56 gear. It weghed 3200lbs when I got it and im shootin for 2800lbs without my big butt in it. I have a F/G tilt front end and a alum. bed to help ease the weight off along with the mustang front end.
Edited to say that you have a great site here, you have a bunch of folks with a lot of info and willing to help everybody along. Its Great. Thanks Jon

Welcome to the group, I've always liked 56 Fords (at one time I owned a 49 Ford PU). And don't worry about being an older newbie, I was the same myself not all that long ago. I put all this away in my mid-20's (30 years back) and thought I was pretty much done with it - then about 7 years ago I got back into it with my Camaro. This is a great group of folks and you'll enjoy getting involved.Fat 56 F100 wrote:Hey folks

20 years ago I put it all away to take my wife and go to horse shows to barrel race...so i never did get rid of the need for speed....just changed modes of transportation.LOL!
I started going back to the drags to watch a couple of guys that work for me.... and it all came back. Nothing like the smell of smoke off of slicks in the box & 105 race gas to get your heart pumping again.

Welcome to the team! When your ready for some ford vs. chevy shootouts, hit Apache Racer up. He is an ass ugly rockin a 59 chevy truck. It would be really cool to see the 59, and 56 side by side going down the track!

Welcome to the site Jon.
As for you getting out of it for 20 years, well that's how long I've owned my Camaro and its just getting finished now, so don't worry....
I agree with Hitch, it's getting old, us Camaro onwers kicking the Nova guys butts, so a Chevy vs Ford grudge would be a fresh welcome.
This is a good group to hang around with, you'll find a lot of knowledge around here and we like to have some fun as well

Welcome aboard. Don't feel to bad about being out of it for a while, I think at one time or another all of us have taken a breif hiatus for one reason or another, just some longer than others. Great bunch of guys on here, but watch out for those camaro guys!!!
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.
