NSCA closes its doors.......

#1 Post by Mike Peters » Tue Nov 13, 2007 6:53 am

After ten years sanctioning races for the street legal and nostalgia drag racing crowd, the National Street Car Association is closing its doors. Simply put, the demand for the series' services has waned in the face of mounting racer expense and increased local and regional choices. During the decade we raced together, we saw nearly 150 champions crowned, we've witnessed some of the greatest names to ever participate in heads up doorslammer racing and we've seen great performances and even greater storylines unfold through each season. The entire NSCA staff would like to thank the support of our sponsors, their choice to support the racer through the NSCA will always be appreciated. The staff of the NSCA worked long and hard, underpaid and revved up on caffeine; they should be acknowledged. It was great working with all of you. The racers of the NSCA were what made it work, made it worth while, watching you do your thing through the years was inspiring. Pro Street, Sup!
er Street and Limited Street close the 2007 season a full second faster than where they were in 1998, awesome work. Nostalgia? The backbone of the street legal movement has always been the nostalgia cars, and the backbone is as strong today as it was in the beginning. There are many more choices open to the racers as we say good bye, than there were in 1997 when we first met. We look forward to seeing you perform at the level you performed here, and wish you great success.

Again, thanks to the racers, the crews, the wives and husbands holding down the fort while we were away. It was a great ride, none of us would have spent that time any differently.

Regards,
The National Street Car Association Team.
