Street/Strip or Straight drag car?????

#1 Post by in the 8's » Thu Nov 29, 2007 4:34 pm

I was just wondering how many of you guys here have just a straight drag car only cars? If so how fast do they go?

If you have a real street strip car how fast do they go.

It does sound like you guys do alot of class racing. Around here it heads up street car (with a ton of cry babys).or bracket

I know new guy with a ton of questions
Just like a bull rider Im running 8 seconds....

Street/strip, but i am well behind the pack! The nitrous this summer should help!

I street it alot and strip it about 3 times a year.

Strip only. Currently runs 9.39 @ 140 but with the new motor, maybe we can tickle the 8's. Oh yeah, we only bracket. There's no heads-up classes around here that we can run in unless we start running in the 6's.

I have a strip only drag car. I parked it for 2007 waiting to feel like spending money again. Instead I help my father dial in his street car.

The 55 Chevy is my car. The gray 67 Chevelle is my father. The in-car videos are his as well. The others are various customers of mine.

Completely street legal, licensed and insured. Not driven on the street much at all since I usually run for points in No/E and I dont want to tear it up on the street. AND...I dont like switching tires back n forth ;)

I have a 71 Nova street strip car. It's all steel besides the hood, full interior, stock suspended, 275/60-15 MT drag radial and it weighs 3615lbs. We have a best time of 8.89@153. Love to drive it on the street.

Mine is tagged, insured, lights, mufflers, ect... I get it out and play on the streets every once in a while. The fastest I have been was on my last pass of this season with a 9.95@136

Mainly street driven 63 pick up. It recently went 12.33 @ 110 with a high 1.8x 60 foot. This was a motor pass. There is more in it on motor. But there is a 2 stage hit coming and I'm hoping to go 10's..

Mine's still street legal and gets out for a Sunday drive down US 54 every now and then. The slicks ain't exactly legal, but the cops haven't said anything yet. I don't cruise around in it though. It's a mid to low 9 second car on the motor, 2nd gear clutch killer on the bottle.

Street legal, tagged and insured, mostly track time, but I still drive it to work a bunch. Best of 9.32@150 on 275/60 radails, but hope to have that well improved on by this weekend, new control arms and srings are installed!
