Desktop Dyno

Anyone use one?
anyone use it to help build a engine?
is it useful?
thinking about getting on to build my engine
1992 S-10
355 sbc, Powerglide, 9" rear end
6.60s 100mph 1/8 mile

Yep, I use one often. Don't know how accurate it is, but you can see if you are making a positive or negative effect on the motor and know if your RPM range is where you think it is. I use Performance Trends Engine Analyzer. It works fairly well.
'87 S10 stock suspension, Caltracs, 9" rearend, 1.82 Glide, 383 SBC,
Brodix Track1 Heads, 14:1 compression, 180 shot plate,
2" tube Hussler Headers, 1.38 60ft., 6.20 ET 1/8th, 109 MPH,
Still Tuning, more to come.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Very usefull tool, changed the direction of my build.

I use it. If you are honest about the data that you are putting in, it has the potential to tell you that you what you are going to run. I use the desk top Dyno and the Desk top Drag. With my motor set up in Dyno and imported in to drag, my best E.T. should have been around 12.48 1/4 mile and 105 mph. My actual was 12.52 @ 104.5. My new motor set up should run 11.50 @ 117 actual is 11.73 @ 115. Please not that I have not even touched the new carb. That was straight out of the box, but I'm sure that I will hit the numbers that desktop shows.
