i was going to ask why you had the metal there good idea tho i have mine mounted to the steering wheel i used the horn wire and contact for the trans brake so i never let go of the wheel.
that would also be a good place for a emergency kill switch hmmm lots of possiblities!!!

Hey Phil,
A pedistal that comes up the other way. I didn't think of that way. what is the red button on the other side of the shifter? And the button next to the nob?

The green button is my line lock and the red button is my trans brake.

I haven't bought a new steering wheel yet to mount both of them so I just fabbed a quick bracket for the shifter knob and it works good.

Hey Chris, I am thinking about copying your setup here. Did you use mild steel or aluminum? What gauge?

It's mild steel....
Mine is finished and powder coated now. It's like 3/4" .080 wall M/S. The plate on top is .120. The front covered switch is the line lock set up that way so I don't have two hold it. The little red switch is the t-brake and the big black switch is the nitrous purge. The box under the shifter is a K&R delay box. The shifter is pinned not bolted for easy removal.

Thanks man. It looks sweet. Do you know what thickness the bottom plate is? I just want to make sure it will be plenty strong.

You must be a bracket racer....

In heads up racing some of us old guys like to do it the old school way. Putting the shifter where you can get to it easy're means less chance of missing the shift point..............
