Throttle cable HELP!!

Throttle cable HELP!!
My Dad and I have a 1979 Capri(same as mustang) and we put a SBC in it with a Holley 750 double pumper. It still has the factory cable and pedal. I want to keep the factory pedal in it but I need a cable set-up that will work for this setup. I have been looking at those LOKAR cables but I cant figure out what I need....
Thanks,
Adam
Thanks,
Adam

Re: Throttle cable HELP!!
I'm in the (slow) process of putting a BBC in a Mustang. The Ford throttle is waaaay too long
for what I need; but it looks like it can be shortened using the original throttle petal.
I'm in Wichita. Give me a call sometime, midday, and I will tell you about what I've been thinking about doing.

Re: Throttle cable HELP!!
I think we were using a gm g-body throttle cable on our mustang with a sbc
Re: Throttle cable HELP!!
Adam on my car I used the outside of the factory cable. Then went to Lowes and got the inside cable and cut it to length.

Adam I think on Aarons car hes using a factory carbed foxbody mustang cable. The cable doesnt know what kind of motor its on. He is using a CSR I think bracket to mount the cable to the carb studs works good for him.

Re: Throttle cable HELP!!
There are different length cables for the different engines...the short one should work fine. The straight 6 & I think, the 4cyl. are pretty long. Really, they are a nice set-up (built-in return spring & the metal mounting tab). Like Tubbed said "It doesn't know...", just get something to hold it in the back & put a ball type stud in your carb, you should be all set. Lorne

Re: Throttle cable HELP!!
Jeg's sells Morse-type cable in different lengths with many available ends for whatever application you're trying to fit. Type "throttle cable" in the search field. Might be a smoother action cable than most others.
