#1 Post by 79 Camaro » Fri May 08, 2009 8:25 pm

Where is the best place to buy "fabricated valve covers" for a BBC??

Thanks,

Just look out for the ones with the thin, flimsy rails. They don't seal the best.

I got my sbc covers from the folks below and I was very impressed. Came with the mounting bolts, well packaged, shipped superfast, and at the best price I could find. I would definitely use them again...

These are sweet... I think they are made by Williams Brothers, supposed to have a nice thick rail too.

I looked for a deals on valve covers and found some on ebay. I bought 2 set as I didn't know which ones I wanted to us.
Had about $250.00 invested in both sets and hated them. So I had CHPcamaro who is on here, make me a set like his. Man they are the best valve covers I have ever had! :thumb: Not as cheap $$ as the others but you get what you pay for. The covers off of ebay didn't fit well and were made out of thiner material. I had the same ones that are up the page on this thread and you want to talk about cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Supernova, they look nice. I can vouch for chpcamaro (Rob), he is a good guy. I ordered my Caltracs from him and talked to him several times on the phone. I have a set of cheap Pro Forms for my SBC, that I bought off ebay, and so far have had no problems...hopefully I don't jinx myself.

The rails are 3/8's thick, good and heavy. The bolt tubes are thick also and they line up with the heads perfectly. The last set I had had to be modified to fit.
Rob (CHPcamaro) would have put anything I wanted on the covers but I liked the logo that were on his covers. I don't mind having his company logo on my car , he's a good guy and will help anyone. Thay do good work too! :thumb: :thumb:
