E85 PROS & CONS
Due to the continued rising cost of fuel (TORCO $6.69) and I have a street strip car I have been thanking of making a change to E85 and I would like to hear some PROS & CONS experiences from those of you that have tried it.
Thanks for the help

Re: E85 PROS & CONS
Personaly have not used it ( seems my car will never be finished) but I do know some people around here who have switched with great results. You will see a increase in fuel comsumption but
the % will vary depending on how and what you drive but the cost will makre up for the loss of mileage if your buy rase gas @ $6.69 a gallon. The example closest to your application is a freind who has a stroked 440 Mopar with about 11:1 compresion and an 850 carb He got a quick fuel conversion for the carb and nothing else and tuned it to our high temp and high d/a and the car runs great with no problems. E85 is about $2.25 a gallon here which is way cheaper than any race gas . So I see it as a no brainer.

I am also interested in this, but with input from guys who are spraying and running it. I am assuming I would have to run a sepatate cell with race gas for nitrous enrichment. So come on fellas, help us out. Not trying to hijack, but also interested.

Re: E85 PROS & CONS
I have made the switch this year. I used the QFT metering blocks and the alcohol carb rebuild kit. I use a holley black pump and mallory return regulator with 1/2" feed and return. I have a 402 BBC fed with a 850 carb. My best et with gas was 7.30...best on e85 is 7.33. But the best on gas the motor was stupid cold...warmed up the best was 7.35(eight mile times :) ). In fairness I also went from a dual plane manifold to a single between gas to e85. People say your car should pick up. Mine really hasn't, but I don't have an e85 tuned center section for the carb yet so I will wait till then to forn an opinion. The car seems to run pretty consistent...and the e85 here is $1.71.
