Jsut for kicks, If money was no object

#1 Post by Hitchcock » Sun Nov 08, 2009 9:25 am

What, where and how would you guys race? I think it will be interesting to see what everyones dream machine is.

Myself, I would race at two totally opposite ends of the spectrum. Something like a street car only category. Like drag week, but I like the pump gas drags rules better. And for competitive heads up racing, I would be driving a Pro Mod car. Where ever they would let me run. Probably IHRA. I'm sure some guys here are driving there dream machine. Congrats to those dudes! :thumb:

My dream car would be a ADRL - IHRA Pro Stock car.
Big cubic inches with a clutch.

For right now I would settle for my new turbo car.
I have worked on the car for over four years. It hurt the new to me used motor after four passes.

Put as much nitrous as you have on that 355 in a mild 454 and it probably would! :bling:
I would keep my vette, probably be a full chassis car with a huge motor.

If time and money were not a problem, I would build a nostalgia funny car, hopefully I still will build one, its just gonna take some time. Hell I already have a good motor for it.

No question about it, I'd build a tube-frame street car with an injected ProCharger big-block, something I could scare myself with on the street and the track

If money were no object....where do I start...

Car would be a 2010 Pro Stock Camaro with all the go fast goodies and chassis, painted Lemans Blue with white z stripes.

I would race this car at my own personal 1/4 mile track located somewhere in mountains of New Hampshire.

You all would have a free pass for the day, and at the end we would all sit down to a steak diner served in my log cabin.
(I drink ice tea and water so you would have to bring your own beer, sorry...)

Then we could all go Big Foot hunting...... :thumb:

Me too, except it would be an injected F-3 instead of a carbed F-2. :thumb:

Aluminum block, aluminum heads...

Hmmm...

Ok, so here's a question:

What manufacturer offers a good aluminum block for BBC ? If I wanted to swap out this iron block for aluminum, who would I look at ? I think I already have a handle on heads, prolly Dart Pro 1's, but I've not a clue on blocks.

Oh hell if Money was no object for me, the National Deficit would be reversed in months, all from sales of Hot Rod Parts and Fabrication tools!

I think I'd start with a small town for Hot Rodders and Racers, with our own set of laws. All stop lights would be christmas trees. You're required to launch with who ever lines up with you regardless of what they are driving... :smt003

We could even have a Special Ed Avenue where no rim screws are allowed :smt064

10-4 !!!

We'd have to add an additional yellow to each traffic light and reverse the order in which they lit up - they'd go from Red to Yellow, Yellow then Green.
