My two near death experiences Friday night....

#1 Post by BracketNova » Sat Jul 10, 2010 1:40 am

Ok, I will preface this by saying that I am sure there are many members that have probably came closer to death than I did in these videos...but both were still not cool.

First vid) watch the car at the end of the track...

Second vid) next pass my trans goes. Could of been bad if something locked up.

Anywhoo, did the pump go out in the trans? It's got no forward or reverse. It's a glide. I heard no noises...I was just goin along then the engine bounced off the rev limiter.

That's wacked... What was the other car doing on the track? Confused/lost spectator? I sure hope that wasn't another racer..

I've seen Newbies turn around at the end of the track and start to come back up towards the starting line!

Never know what you'll see at TNT !

I'm assuming it was his first time at our track. He made a pass ahead of me. We have three return exits, with the second and third being part of a circle track for karts. My assuption was he took the second exit and hung a left and stayed on the circe which shot him back out towards me. The crazy thing was he was just dinkin around...he was in no hurry to get the heck out of my way.

As for my tranny? Could this be a valve body issue? When I got the trans, the valve body was keeping it from going in reverse. I think I read there is a valve that directs pressure for forward and reverse. I would think if the punp blew up I would have heard it? When I was going down the track it was just like somene bumped it into neutral.

So, did the track people offer the "wrong-way guy" any consuling?
What track is that? Looks like a nice, down home facility. My kind of place (except for the two-way traffic.........).

Eddyville IA. They had made two announcements before I ran urging people that we're new to the track or racing to ask an official. I was told the guy got quite the talking to. A classy guy would have came and apologized...
