my first pass new motor

#1 Post by spib » Mon Aug 02, 2010 11:17 am

well a few of you know my dream has always been to someday go 10.90
well first time at track
new motor
no trans brake
test and tune
shifting at 6500
10.69

has a bog off footbrake, carb is setup for trans brake
and on the rev limit before finish line
passes were
10.69
10.72
10.75
10.63
10.67
all runs were at 128 mph, except first pass with 7300 chip which was 126mph

my wife ran her fastest 13.86 and my friend andy who is from oregon, ran mid 11's with his s10 truck, to me that was a perfect weekend
we all had a blast and my dream of 10's finally came true
my engine builder also was there and checked the valve lash, hot before I ran
IT WAS BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!

Awesome - great to see you not only met your goal, but exceeded it. That doesn't often happen first time off the trailer!

Congrats on exceeding your performance goals!

Just imagine how quick it would be if you could fix the 60' times which are at least two tenths + slow.

The MPH shows the capability to run low 10's with the power it currently has.

the reason the 60 fts are slow is because of the bad bog, the trans brake will fix that, on a 4000 chip that will all go away, and when I go to a taller slick and get off the rev limiter ,well before the finish, that also will pick me up some, I am hooking up brake before next time out :D

I'd love to be on the line watching you the first time you get good hook with that transbrake. I launched the last time at 4,000 on the brake and it certainly raises the old blink rate
