First outting in 2 years

#1 Post by clutchdude » Mon Oct 25, 2010 8:25 am

Some upgrades as well as being lazy took 2 years, but was well worth it.

Added some strut bars to the front of the car and a few other bars as well as finally spending the money to get the chassis certified (tired of letting of in the 8th) Probably added 50 plus pounds to the car. Put a vacuum pump on the motor. Also am trying a new clutch in the car, and that will take some time to get it dialed in.

First pass was a 1.31 60' and a 6.004 8th, both are bests by .06

clutch was actually pretty close in the setup in low gear, so i dont see the 60's getting alot better than that.

I was happy with that run considering the fuel pressure dropped midway thru 3rd gear

I will try to post the video of the run later on today

Jim

P.S. i need to step up the rearend soon....spit a ring and pinion on the second run

That thing jams !!!!!

I'm not coordinated enough anymore to handle a clutch and gear shift that way - you're lightning quick with that thing...

The trick Harry is in the clutch setup...its a clutchless trans. And the clutch setup is new and not very close, as least right now.

Is the trans specifically designed to shift without lifting ? That must be some smooth stuff in that trans...
