Making a little progress on my turbo switch

#1 Post by camaroman9 » Mon Apr 11, 2011 10:42 pm

My headers came in last week. I bought them from a company called obx racing and i am really happy with the quality, especially for the price.

Here is a couple of pictures with my buddies turbo set in the engine bay for mockup for the turbo mount

All i am lacking now is some chromoly tubing for the mount, the mounting flange, wastegate flange, and the tubing for the hot and cold sides to have everything mocked up for my motor when its done at the machine shop. Its not much to look at now, but hopefully it will be in a month or so.

So your the one posting those on the yellow bullet, how dare you......... Joking!

How do they fit? They look a little short...

And what half the price for a set of stainlessworks headers?

I am going to have to change to a different style valve cover to get them on there. I went out to the engine builder's last week, and the innermost primary hit the valve cover. Im pretty sure i have an old set of billet aluminum covers at my parents that will work, i just need to get them bolted on and go for round two. They were $435 shipped, compared to $950 + shipping.

They look real nice, hope they'll work out for you on the valve cover clearance. That price is certainly reasonable for stainless.

You could always go for spacers under the headers - dunno how far out they'd need to be to clear your valve covers, but that'd be one solution.
