Anyone Like Gassers?

#1 Post by MXrider13 » Mon May 23, 2011 8:52 pm

Anyone like Gassers? Here in Florida we have an event called the Billetproof drags a Nostalgia Hot Rod event mainly focusing on pre 65 Hot Rods, but there are also Nostalgia Funny Cars, and Gassers. Now I remember I saw the Gassers and I thought they were cool, they seemed like the 60's version of a Pro Street Car, but still different.
Anyone into gassers, or use to own one or maybe now own one?
Also how do you think a newer car would be as a gasser?

there's a couple of guys around here (Sacramento) who are building new nostalgia gassers, one is an old Ford coupe, the other an early Chevy II. Drop tube, small block, 4 speads, square cut cheater slicks - way cool stuff :thumb:

Gassers are cool...way more fun to watch than most racecars today. Well unless we are talking about some of the 10.5 cars.

My camaro is a injected small block on methanol with a 4 speed, yeah i kinda like gassers.

You know, now that I think about it I've never seen a Gen-1 Camaro with a drop tube front end. You could be the first :)

We have that old School Drag racing event once a year, then Don Garlits puts on a huge car show every year at his place that is mostly the same cars, Gassers, Hot Rods that are actually driven not garage queens, and drag cars as well.
