Corvette back at the underground

#1 Post by Hitchcock » Sun Oct 09, 2011 2:08 pm

Welp, yesterday I hualed the Corvette back to Tigwelders shop for the final fab work. He's gonna mount seats, build a fuel cell, radiator mount, mount the rack and pinion, and a handfull of other little things. Then I have to get a drive shaft, and springs for the rear end. And after I have those few items, it just final assembley. Hopefully I wont hit to many hicups on the way and we will be doing some spring testing.

Make sure you guys pester the crap out of him so he will post up pictures as we go along. I dont have a lot of time to get over there these days with that new baby. When he gets all his crap done I can fainally paint the roll cage, then I will peel all that platic off the interior tin and see that black powder coat. I'm excited for that. Any volunteers to come over and help me plumb the brakes?? :smt003

Hitch,
I've got a BUNCH of brake line fittings from RJ Race Cars if you want/need them (cheap).

Let Kevin know. I'll bring them down.

Man, if I had the time (and money), that'd be a righteous road trip with the Camaro !!!!

SID, thanks bring them to the shop sometime. I will go through and buy what ever you dont need that I do. I bought a kit from Jegs, but I know I will need something I dont have. Thanks for the offer!!

Harry, oh man, if you brought the cmaro I would even throw down 20 or 30 bucks for gas!! Of course at these prices that would probably not even get you out of the city limit.

And remember I have not given up on having a "Dragstuff Nationals" event. One of these days I will throw down a bunch of my income tax money for a track rental day and just rent a track if I can get someone else involved with some of the money end of it. Its a shame about Tulsa because that seemed like a popular choice for everyone. MAybe that is something we can all talk about again in the spring and see if we can all actually get something out together. I would love to get you with the camaro down here and show some of us young bucks how its done. ;)

Hey Hitch, how was that, did I do good?

Good luck with your build, can't wait to see it done.

If your like me, I'm a kid at Christmas time right now, waiting to keep those last few parts to finish the car.

My parts will be back from the paint shop this weekend and I'm itching to get it all back together.
