I was, I changed my mind. Got nervous about a rock getting kicked up and knocking a hole in it, or something like that since it was directly in line with the tires.

Hey John,

How's the progress on Blue coming along?

Back to the question of the dash cover, did you get it on yet?

I'm tinkering with the idea of installing an aluminum dashboard or keep the stock look and use a dash cover, like the kind you got.

$300 for a new dash pad really has me not wanting to buy a stock pad, but I like the stock look and I can get a dash cover for under $80. But the aluminum dash only costs $140 with a gauge panel and that also has me thinking????
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

I'm doing wiring right now, making progress on that. I've been putting off the dash cover project as it looks to be a pain in the butt.

My personal opinion is a flat sheet aluminum dash looks like crap, reminds me of a dirt track car... Each to his own though.

I know, I've been thinking that I kept it as much as stock as possible and would the aluminum dash ruin the theme,
but I also like the fact that I can remove the whole panel to do wiring, if needed and would eliminate more damage to my head!

But $300 for a dash is a lot of money....

I would assume you can have your current one recovered with something, or use the dash cover for a LOT less then $300.

Let me put it this way, we've gonna all take turns kicking you if you cut the dash out and put a sheet of aluminum in there... lol

That's one problem, the dash pad was so meshed up, it got thrown out about 15 years ago.

Yeah, your right, I probably would be crucified for one, owning a Camaro and two, putting in the aluminum dash.

I'm starting to see the light :smt002

Back on the ground again...

Everything is done for the most part under the car now, wiring is about 90% done - getting close to wrapping that up.

John,

Am I correct in what I read on your site, that your car is street legal?

That might be debatable, but it is tagged, licensed and insured. Street practical, no, not something to drive to the dairy queen..
