First hit it went 5.30@136, then next round some dummy forgot to turn the nitrous on, third hit went a 5.30 but mph dropped a bit, fourth it went a 5.32 with worse 60' - was playing around trying a few things. The major thing that needs worked on is the driver, definitely need more seat time. Can't complain about that car at all went arrow straight. I do need to work on the brakes, something ain't quite right on them so I'm going to closely look that over, I think it's still got some air in the lines or something.
What I find most impressive is how well things went first time out - flawless build quality John. Very nice work, and congratulations.

First time out on the new setup and you go as fast as I've ever been ;-)

Congrats man. That's awesome to have a successful first time out after all the effort, time and expense.

Thanks guys, I was pretty happy with how it ran, that's as good a MPH as it's ever been with a lot smaller jet. Also got it's best 60' 1.27 and the launch wasn't that great really, there's a lot more left I'm sure with some work.

Can't wait to see what it runs once you work some of the bugs out and refine the tuneup.

No, that was my old 29.5x10.5's with 15+ runs on them, they are 4 years old. I'm surprised they worked as good as they did. I haven't got around to seeing if the 315's will fit. With all I'm hearing about the 275's I'm wondering if those might be better to try.

The new M/T Pro 275 is one killer tire I hear.

Wonder if they'll make a 315 same design...

Not sure. With the times run on radials this weekend at Holly Springs, I'd say there is a bigger radial out there that works really well! I'm just not sure how many tracks are good enough for the top level radial racing.

Very true. There is a huge difference, one of our local guys that typically runs 4.9X or so went 4.60's this weekend at Holly Springs. Said the track took everything he could throw at it. That's a BIG difference, and I do think he was on Radials instead of 29.5's.

Then at the same time, slicks are real tricky on a track that good.

X2

We found on our Outlaw 10.5 customers that on a drag radial prep'd track the slicks will want to shake very badly on a regular tuneup. They have to throw more power at the tire, lower the wheelie bars and maybe a touch more air pressure to try and build some wheel speed. A dead hook on those tires will not go A to B.

On a good track, there is no reason I can see why the radial won't be quicker. The tough part is balancing the power tuneup to the chassis setup to keep the front end down dead hooking the radial.

I struggled at Holly Springs in April. I was just starting to get down the track when I broke the gear set in the tranny. It went from blowing the tires off to shaking them. The weight reduction I did last winter really screwed with the chassis setup. You shouldn't think 30 lbs off the front and 30 off the rear would make a car act much different. I've seen 25 lbs calm a wheelie on my car but didn't expect the 30 off the rear to make such a big change.

Was that on the 26 x 8.5"

I'd imagine the tuning window for the tire is pretty small?
